Running shoe company Brooks has partnered with HP to release the Exhilarate-BL sneaker, which features 3D printed lattice work. This shoe, part of the BlueLine Lab program, was tailored for Brooks Run Club loyalty members. You can see the new sneaker in the image below.
The Exhilarate-BL incorporates a 3D printed midsole technology called “3DNA”. This technology provides a bouncy sensation, enhancing the runner’s forward motion. HP states that these shoes offer superior energy return during midsole function compared to most competitors, using fewer materials.
Nikhil Jain, of Brooks, emphasized the precision the HP 3D printing tech offers, enabling enhancements at millimeter-scale, offering an unmatched underfoot experience. Moreover, 3D printing has made the manufacturing process more sustainable by decreasing material consumption. Jain highlighted the brand’s commitment to environmental conservation by reducing energy and raw material requirements during production.
While many may be keen to purchase the new Exhilarate-BL, its availability will be limited. The shoes are part of a controlled release for specific Brooks members. This collaboration isn’t a first, as in 2018, Brooks and HP introduced the Genesys shoe, personalized using 3D foot scanning tech. HP’s FitStation captured foot scans and analyzed gait and foot pressure.
